Statement
Gary Ambrose is an Emeritus Professor at Maine College of Art, He lives in the western mountains of Maine with a home and studio in an apple orchard on the southern side of Allen Mountain.
These natural surroundings provide opportunity for quiet and solitary contemplation: the change of seasons, the natural selection in field and grasses, and the growth of tree limbs toward light and moisture.
His sculpture evolves from quiet observation and the duality that life in the 21st century provides.
